University of Birmingham

Project Overview

As part of the University of Birmingham’s global rebrand, I was commissioned to create a series of studio portraits featuring real students for use across large-scale print, digital campaigns and wider marketing materials. Working alongside the art director and senior marketing team, the shoot involved a full studio setup, three assistants and a make-up artist to ensure the production ran smoothly and the final imagery met the quality required for high-impact campaign use.

All colour gel backgrounds were created in camera, giving the portraits a bold, polished look while maintaining authenticity and consistency across the series. With a fast turnaround required, the project was carefully planned and delivered efficiently, producing a versatile library of people-focused imagery that supported the University’s new visual identity across multiple platforms.
